They met online when a Tinder glitch said they were only 3km’s apart. After swiping right and starting to chat, they realised they were, in fact, 325km’s apart! And the rest…as they say…is history!
Neither Misty or Darren were keen to have a long distance romance. But Covid lockdowns and restrictions meant that most people weren’t meeting up anyway (even if they DID live 3km’s apart 😆), which of course meant endless opportunities to chat online. So by the time they got to meet face to face, it was a no brainer for them both! Love doesn’t listen to logic and once you find the one for you, distance isn’t a factor anymore. And these two lovebirds were definitely made for each other. From their love of Marvel and Harry Potter to their shared devotion of their German Shepard pup, these 2 couldn’t be more perfectly suited. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more accomodating couple and from the moment they reached out about wedding photography last November, they have been a dream to work with.
The Wedding
On their wedding day they practically beamed with happiness all day. They incorporated all their favourite things into their special day. Misty and Darren designed the invitations. There were custom tie pins for the groomsmen, personalised robes for the bridesmaids and maid of honour and engraved glasses for gifts. The attention to detail was fabulous, complete with a “golden snitch” ring box for Misty’s wedding ring! Darren lamented with me earlier this week that he wished it had been easier to open in the moment (nerves and contact lenses threw a bit of a spanner in the works when it came to getting the ring out of said snitch).
The weather played along (for the most part) and after 2 badly timed downpours of rain – the rain seems to know when it’s time to do group photo’s 😆 – we were rewarded with the prettiest glowy light for the couple portraits. Once all the evening formalities were over DJ Johnny Bones kept the party going right through the night! A fitting end to a wonderful day.
Darren and Misty, it was been such an honour being part of your wedding journey. Thank you so much for the privilege of capturing this very special day for you! Natassa and I had such a great time with you both and I hope you enjoy viewing your day through our eyes!! I can’t wait to share your full gallery with you.
