If you have ever had the privilege of hanging out with a 2 year old, you will know that no 2 minutes are ever the same and likewise no 2 minutes are ever really spent sitting in one place. The energy levels and inquisitive nature of a 2 year old are really something to be admired. As adults we could take a feather out of the caps of some of societies smallest members when it comes to having an insatiable desire to know more, learn more and enjoy more of the things around us. I don’t think I have ever met a 2 year old who doesn’t want to know more about the world around them. And little miss Kate is no different. This sweet little angel laughed and chatted and waddled around almost non-stop the entire time I was there. She was showing me her books and her stuffed animals, her tea cups…all while chatting up a storm and not sitting still for more than 5 minutes at a time.
Little Charmer
Kate’s daddy Bruce, had just returned from a work trip (he flies helicopters for a living – seriously cool job! 🙂 ) and Little Miss Kate was enjoying having the undivided attention of the favourite man in her life. This sweet little girl, with her beautiful wayward curls and sweet angelic face had all of us wrapped around her finger as we read her story after story, as she picked books and brought them over for us to read. Served us tea in her little tea set and basically charmed the life out of me (her parents are already goners, they’ve been subject to her charms for 2 years and don’t stand a chance of ever getting out from under her sweet spell. :p)
Put it Out there
I have been friends with Mel, Kate’s awesome mom, for many years and when she told me her and Bruce were moving to Australia a few years back, I was sad for me but so excited for the wonderful adventure they were about to start. During one of our Whatsapp chats across the oceans, Mel off handedly mentioned that maybe one day I would be in Australia too. Who knew that less than 2 years later we would start the process that would bring about our move to Australia. Last week we were on Whatsapp again, chatting about admin issues I was having with my boys passports and Mel mentioned (again very non-chalantly :p) that I might just have to make the trip to Canberra to come and chat to the administration at the High Commission in person. And lo and behold – that was actually our last resort to sort out the issues we were having and I DID end up travelling to Canberra… I’ve now told Mel that if I ever need anything to happen and happen quickly, I am just going to get her to pray about it and my prayers will be answered almost immediately!! hahahaha…this amazing lady clearly knows how to pray and pray well!!! 😀 hahaha
Absolute Dream
So my impromptu trip to Canberra involved a wonderful visit with Mel, Bruce and little Miss Kate and I had the fantastic privilege of getting this cute angel in front of my lens. The last time I’d done photo’s for Mel and Bruce was just before they left SA to come to Aus and I NEVER would’ve thought that the next shoot we did together would be on Australian soil. And what a fabulous shoot it was. Kate was an absolute dream, playing with her animals, giggling with her mom and dad…she made my job too easy.
I hope you enjoy some of these pictures from our lifestyle session.
