High School Formals!! Fancy dresses and rented suits. Pretty shoes, make up and endless excitement. High school generally passes in a blur of tests, endless homework and studying for said tests. So when the chance to dress up comes along, everyone jumps at the chance to get in on the action.
But no matter how much prep and planning goes into it, there never seems to be enough time!! Dani’s year 10 formal was no different. The non-stop rain meant we couldn’t venture outside and we ran out of time for individual portraits. To make sure Dani got extra portraits, we made a plan to meet the next day to make up for the missed time. Year 10 formals are an opportunity to say goodbye to friends leaving school for tertiary fields of study. So there’s no better excuse to get dressed up and party. And party they did! You can see the original post of Dani and her friends here.
We had spectacular weather. And Although her hair and makeup weren’t professionally done, we ended up getting some really fun and natural images of Dani! Which is exactly what she’d wanted.
I hope you enjoy a few of my favourites.

Love these! Her dress is so classy (and that color complements her well!). Your images are totally beautiful and I love the location(s) (that tree with the purple blooms is amazing!)
Thanks so much Jordyn. I’m really blessed to stay in a beautiful neighbourhood – these were taken along various walking paths in our area and those trees with the purple blossoms are called Jacaranda trees (well in South Africa we call them Jacarandas, the Aussies might call them something else!!). 🙂
I love her sassy look with the converse 🤣 super cute
Thanks so much Liz. We had such fun mixing up the heels with the converse. 🙂
