The fact that it’s June and this is only my second blog of the year, has me hanging my head in blogging shame!! I was so dedicated last year, blogging once a week and at one point even twice a week. So to have fallen off the bandwagon this badly is shocking to say the least and I’m sorry to have left you hanging. I promise that I will be consistent once again and that this blog is the first of many for the rest of the year. This week‘s blog focuses on the first of my post Covid-lockdown shoots and I am so excited to be able to share it with you. On Saturday I was lucky enough to meet Teresa Quinn, the fabulous owner of Nanny Boutique – a personalised agency creating quality, lasting connections between families and nannies .
Teresa reached out to me via Instagram asking about doing business headshots, but looking for something with a difference. She wanted more than just the usual headshots – she wanted people to see the face behind Nanny Boutique. As a small business owner, Teresa knows that it’s so important for her clients to see all the hats she wears on a day-to-day basis. Not only is she a small business owner, she’s also a mother, educator and nanny!
Branding is about more than a logo
Teresa understands the key principle that her brand is more than just a logo and a name. It encompasses so much more. I like to think of it as the online face and personality of your business. The purpose of good branding, both words and visuals, is to allow your clients a peek inside. Let them get to know you before they ever even speak to you. Your digital presence should make them WANT to meet you and do business with you!
An Online presence is key for small businesses
The digital age demands that small businesses have to have some sort of online presence. Whether it’s Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter , it’s imperative that a business has some sort of digital presence. This is often the first place that your customers and potential customers interact with you. So if your digital presence is not showing your best side you are already starting off on the wrong foot.
You are what makes your small business unique
When most people hear the word brand they immediately think logo. But, a brand is so much more than just your logo. Your brand encompasses so many different aspects – your colours, your fonts, your website, your personality! All of these things combine to make your brand. And as a small business owner, the biggest aspect of your brand is you!!!You are unique to your business. No other business has you at the helm, so this is the part of your business that nobody else can duplicate. Whilst there may be many other businesses that do what you do, they don’t have YOU and your unique set of skills! When you realise that you are the key to your businesses success, that is when you can take your business to the next level by leveraging yourself to bring in sales.
Customers want a personal connection
People want more than just a business name these days they want a personal connection. They want to know the person behind the business. The best way to market to new and potential clients is to let them into your circle. And a personal branding session is one way of achieving this! They are quickly becoming my favourite type of session! It is such a joy to be able to help small business owners bring their brand vision to life.
Have a clear vision for your branding shoot
Teresa had such a clear vision for her brand photos and I’m delighted to share this selection of images that will grace her social media and digital channels to help her current and future clients connect with the face behind her business.
