Darook Park Personal Headshots
Stepping in front of the camera is often such a daunting thought. As a photographer my happy place is behind the camera. So stepping in front of the camera is not something that happens all that often. And while I like to be in photos with my family and friends – who doesn’t?!?! I have never had professional headshots taken of myself. I was always so busy capturing everyone else’s memories that it was never a priority.
Business Growth
As creatives we tend to focus more on the creative side of business and put the business side of things on the backburner. But over the past few years I have been investing in my education and my business on all levels and this year especially has been filled with business education, Namely the Katelyn James Business Journey. Which is a year long business course focusing on all things business related. Part of our business journey is personal marketing and showing up on our social media feeds. Which in turn means that I had to slink out of my comfort zone and get in front of the camera.
No more Comfort Zone
Which is exactly what I did a few weeks back with my friend and fellow photographer from Illuminare Photography. We decided to implement some of our education and swap headshots!
We thoroughly enjoyed playing with light and chasing the glow and we actually came away from the experience having so much fun. And while it was daunting to start, I soon felt comfortable in front of the lens and loosened up to the point where I have so many fun new headshots to use across all my online platforms. I also have a much better understanding of what my clients go through at a session, which enables me to serve them even better going forward.
These are a few favourites from our afternoon. I’d love to know what you think.
Thank you Illuminare Photography for the images!!!
