Sweet sleeping boys

Who can resist sweet sleeping little babies. I absolutely love capturing newborn babies. I love their tiny little toes and gorgeous squishy cheeks. Their flakey skin and the soft fluffy hair on their backs and ears.

Every time I pick up a teeny tiny baby during a newborn shoot, I am reminded again of the miracle that we are. If you have ever looked at a baby and considered how much could actually go wrong between conception and birth and then stop to marvel at the perfect little human in your hands, it’s very hard not to believe in miracles and the God that creates them. I count it such a great privilege to be invited into homes to photograph what are usually the first official portraits of the newest members of  the family. They are the stars of this show, but I never forget to include mom, dad and any siblings. Because while the newest member is the star, the rest of the family is so in love with this sweet new arrival and everyone wants to be included in this special moment.

So Tiny

Even after all these years I never get over that first moment when mommy hands me her precious bundle, I’m always hit by how tiny newborn babies are – even if they are classified as “big”, these beautiful little bubs are SOOOOO tiny! Everything about them is so little, but so perfectly in proportion. from their little finger nails to their little button noses. As you can tell, I LOVE this part of my job. I could cuddle and photograph these littlest clients of mine all day.  So before I gush anymore about how sweet they are and how much I love photographing them. Here is a small selection of black and white images of some of the littlest baby boys I have had the privilege of photographing. It’s the first in a mini-series of 2 posts. Later this week I’ll be posting a follow up blog of the little girls I’ve had the privilege of capturing.

I hope you enjoy these sweet sleeping boys!
