Life as a small business owner can be quite lonely. And it’s not always easy to meet new people. So an event like the Hills District Small Business Expo and Conference, geared to empower and connect small businesses, is a great platform for small business owners to meet other like minded business owners.
Inaugural Expo
The inaugural Hills District Small Business Expo, Conference and Awards took place on Thursday 7 November at the stunning Cropley House in Baulkham Hills. The event was hosted by the award-winning business networking group Hills District Business Mums (HDBM) and supported by the Hills Shire Council. Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne, officially opened the conference .
Exciting Program
An exciting program which included plenary sessions by inspiring keynote speakers at 3 points through the day, practical workshops directed at businesses in either the start-up or growth phases, culminated in the Hills District Small Business awards celebrating small business in the Sydney Hills.
In addition to the structured programs there was also an all day Exhibition floor showcasing a range of government agencies and business-to-business products and services. And because small business never stops 🙂 there were also networking and co-working areas for business owners to connect and catch up on any work between sessions.
There were a range of ticket options available giving attendees the option of attending full day or either morning or afternoon sessions.
Capturing the Action
I was fortunate to be there to capture the day and all the exciting happenings as an event supporter. I met so many new people and made great contacts. The expo was a huge success and I look forward to next years event! If you’re a small business owner in the Hills make sure you book your ticket next year!
A big thank you to all the event sponsors and supporters – without you the expo wouldn’t have been the success it was.
